Club Nambucca Supports Purple Friday on 8 May

April 30, 2026

Standing Together Against Domestic and Family Violence

Club Nambucca is proud to be joining more than 200 clubs across NSW this Purple Friday on Friday, 8 May, to raise awareness, offer support and help prevent domestic and family violence. It’s a cause that matters deeply to our community, and we’re honoured to stand alongside so many other clubs in showing solidarity.

The colour purple represents strength, courage and dignity – three qualities that speak to the resilience of those affected by domestic and family violence. By wearing and displaying purple, we send a clear message that our community does not stand for violence, and that those who are affected are not alone.

How You Can Help

One of the most powerful things we can do as a community is simply show up and show support. Whether that means wearing purple on the day, starting a conversation, or checking in on someone you care about, every action counts.

If you or someone you know needs help, support is available. Please reach out to 1800RESPECT, a trusted national service providing support for people affected by domestic and family violence. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 000 right away.

We hope our community will come together to help raise awareness about domestic violence in Australia and show those affected that they have people standing with them. Together, we can make a difference.
